The Run Collection

The Run Collection

I always loved running – it was something you could do by yourself, and under your own power. You could go in any direction, fast or slow as you wanted, fighting the wind if you felt like it, seeking out new sights just on the strength of your feet and the courage of your lungs.”

Jesse Owens

I love running a new city. On the first morning, I lace the shoes and set out to explore.  The pictures and a route map I earn are my favorite souvenirs! I started “The Run Collection” in 2015, and it continues to grow as we travel. The places we see are all pretty amazing to a kid from small-town Kansas.

And while I am far from the greatest or fastest Kansas runner ever, I may have run in more cities!

A shout-out to the team at Great Runs. They have been a fantastic resource to find routes as we travel.  From Sarajevo to Alexandria, to Vienna to London, and Lyon to Luxembourg, they have inspired. Keep it coming, guys!

Running New Zealand

New Zealand made for some fabulous runs. From city sights, to beach bliss to hard hills, there was a little of everything. Read on for the highlights!

Running 2022

Running 2022 was a good year, if not great. The good included incredibly beautiful runs through 31cities in 10 countries. But Brussels knocked me off my only goal for the year.

Rain, sheep, and steeples

The Broadway Runs

I managed a few solitary Broadway runs, through steeples, stiles, sheep and rain. It was fantastic, despite the sop and stinging nettle.

Conwy Mountain Run

The morning rain had passed, and blue skies began to peek through the clouds.  Conwy Mountain was calling; time for a run!
