Food Adventures

Jean and I love trying new food in our adventures. We learn about regional cuisine and you often learn about the history, culture, and values of a people. And you get to eat well, all under the guise of learning!

Fortunately for you, my dear reader, Jean is the Chief Chef and author of Confident in the Kitchen. As she’s far more qualified, I will leave most of the food commentary to her. Check out the Food Adventures on her culinary arts site.

If you love great recipes, Jean’s cookbook, Confident in the Kitchen, is for you. Jean’s unique approach to recipes shares what you need, what to do, and also the why for each step. Over the years, she has added a little something for everyone, whether you love cooking or baking, savory or sweet, comfort cuisine, or fashionable fair. And if you have a dietary restriction, such as gluten or dairy, you will find that too! All of her recipes are tested and retested to perfection (as chief taste tester, I know and recommend!)

Travel Bytes

As the Chief Taste Tester for Confident in the Kitchen, I do feel uniquely qualified to comment on some of our food adventures and make recommendations. My favorites to date include Barcelona (paella), Stonington Maine (lobster), Tuscany (focaccia and pasta), Bol, Croatia (seafood!), and Tulum Mexico (the hottest food I have ever had… pure habanero juice!) Food Adventure Travel Bytes are below. Enjoy!

New Zealand Wine

Sauvignon Blanc is the star of New Zealand Wine. But there is much more here. And the Kiwis keep the best to themselves!

Konoba Miller
